ROOF OF THE WORLD

ROOF OF THE WORLD
Location :Himalayas, Tibet
Limited Edition :100
Photograph Code :TBT160
Description :The road which runs between Katmandu in Nepal and Lhasa in Tibet, represents one of the most extraordinary journeys to be found on earth and is affectionately known as the Friendship Highway. Tibet literally encapsulates some of the highest mountain peaks and passes on the planet and is therefore referred to as the Roof of the World. I traveled along this road over a ten-day period and was absolutely enthralled by every aspect of the journey. This image was taken in the Everest region on a typically beautiful but freezing cold morning. I remember feeling very uncomfortable from the long hours of driving on the bumpy harsh roads. It was then that I found this scene when purely by chance we stopped for a break from the driving. I love this photograph for the absolute natural beauty portrayed within it from a truly magical land.
